an unfebruary first

Had a “blah” day, feeling that things in my life are off kilter. Unseasonably warm weather called for an evening remedy of quality time with the City. Wandered through the East Village, LES and then Chinatown, reacquainting myself with the streets and finding new orientation, discovering new hole-in-the-wall restaurants and having pleasant conversations with strangers.

Lessons learned/reminders remembered:

  1. I have the power to turn bad days/moods/situations around.
  2. Opportunities are everywhere at any given moment, if you seek, recognize and seize them—especially in New York!
  3. New York is a richly flavorful city. Every neighborhood is amazing in its own way.
  4. Open your eyes, ears and then mouth!
  5. All friends are once strangers.
